At Smile by Ada, every dental implant starts with a 3D digital plan: a CBCT scan, an intraoral impression and a prosthetic check before any procedure. This is how we rule out surprises and achieve a precise, predictable position for each implant.

We work only with implant systems that have an international reputation — Straumann (Switzerland), Megagen, Bredent and INNO — chosen according to your case, not according to what is in stock. For patients with no teeth or with compromised teeth, we offer fixed solutions on 4 or 6 implants (All-on-4 / All-on-6), including the Fast & Fixed protocol: fixed teeth within a short time of the procedure.

The whole team — implantologist, prosthodontist and dental technician — works in a single coordinated workflow, from the consultation to the final crown. We offer a warranty of up to 10 years on premium implants, backed by a clear maintenance plan.

Types of dental implants and how the choice is made

The dental implants used today are titanium screws or, in selected cases, zirconia screws, placed in the bone to replace the root of the lost tooth. The differences between systems lie not in the metal but in the thread design, the surface treatment and the type of connection with the prosthetic restoration.

The choice is made not by brand but by bone. The amount and density of the bone, the distance to the sinus or to the alveolar nerve, and the chewing forces in that area decide which implant is placed and how soon it can be loaded. That is why planning starts with a CT scan, not with a catalogue.

One principle we follow: we work with dental implant systems that have a documented track record and components that remain available for years. An implant placed today must still be serviceable a decade from now, when a prosthetic part wears out.

  • Single implant — replaces one tooth without touching the neighbouring teeth
  • Implant-supported bridge — several missing teeth, on two or more implants
  • All-on-4 and All-on-6 — a full, fixed arch on four or six implants
  • Zygomatic implant — insufficient bone, anchorage in the zygomatic bone

Fixed teeth on implants: what it actually means

Fixed teeth on implants are a complete restoration screwed onto implants, which only the dentist can remove. They do not come out at night, they do not sit in a glass and they do not move when you eat.

They are usually supported by 4 or 6 implants per arch. The number is not a marketing choice but the result of the measurements on the CBCT scan: how much bone there is and of what quality, and how the chewing forces are distributed.

  • All-on-4: four implants per arch, two straight at the front and two tilted at the back, to avoid areas with no bone
  • All-on-6: six implants, for a better distribution of forces
  • Fast & Fixed: the Bredent protocol, with a provisional fixed restoration fitted shortly after the procedure
  • The definitive restoration is made of zirconia, layered ceramic, or composite on a titanium or cobalt-chrome framework

Implant-supported dentures: fixed or removable

These are two different solutions, and confusing them causes most disappointments. Both rest on implants, but one stays in the mouth permanently, while the other is taken out by the patient for cleaning.

  • The fixed restoration: screwed onto the implants and removed only at the clinic. The closest feeling to natural teeth, but it needs more implants and a larger budget.
  • The overdenture on ball attachments or locators: it clips onto two to four implants and is taken out at home for cleaning. It costs significantly less and solves the main problem of a conventional denture, which is instability.
  • The choice depends on your bone, your budget and what you want. We discuss it before any procedure, not after.

From a removable denture to fixed teeth

A conventional complete denture rests on the gum and the bone. The problem is not only that it moves: worn for years, it speeds up the resorption of the bone it sits on, and with every year a fixed solution becomes more complicated.

Moving from a denture to implants is possible in most cases. When a lot of bone has been lost, the path goes through bone grafting or a sinus lift, and in severe cases through zygomatic implants. The real assessment is made on a CBCT scan, not on a panoramic X-ray.

How soon you can have fixed teeth

With the All-on-4 and Fast & Fixed protocols, many patients receive a provisional fixed restoration within a few days of the procedure. The condition is that the implants have sufficient stability from the moment they are placed.

We do not promise a fixed timeframe before we have seen the CT scan. The definitive restoration is fitted after osseointegration, usually within 3 to 6 months.

How long until I have fixed teeth?

With the All-on-4 / Fast & Fixed protocol, many patients leave with a provisional fixed restoration within a few days of the procedure. The final restoration is fitted after osseointegration (3-6 months).

Is the procedure painful?

The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic, and discomfort is minimal. For extensive cases we offer conscious sedation. Afterwards we prescribe mild painkillers for a few days.

How long does a dental implant last?

With correct hygiene and maintenance, premium implants can last for decades. We offer a warranty of up to 10 years on premium systems.

What is the difference between fixed teeth on implants and a removable denture?

Fixed teeth are screwed onto the implants and only the dentist can remove them. A removable implant-supported denture clips onto ball attachments or locators, and you take it out at home for cleaning. The first costs more and needs more implants; the second solves the instability of a conventional denture on a smaller budget.

Can I have fixed teeth if I have no teeth left?

Yes. For a completely toothless arch we use the All-on-4, All-on-5 or All-on-6 protocols, depending on the bone available. When the bone has resorbed significantly, the path may go through bone grafting, a sinus lift or, in severe cases, zygomatic implants.

Can an implant-supported denture be taken out?

It depends on the type chosen. The one on ball attachments or locators is taken out by you, for cleaning. The fixed restoration stays in the mouth and is removed only at the clinic, during check-ups.
